Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my skin produce even more oil after washing it? +

If you use harsh cleansers that strip the skin's natural lipids, your skin barrier detects the dryness and overcompensates by producing more sebum. This is known as "rebound oiliness." Always use gentle, sulfate-free cleansers.

Do I need a moisturizer if my skin is already oily? +

Yes. Oily skin is rich in sebum (oil), but it can still lack water (dehydration). Skipping moisturizer causes the skin to dry out, triggering the sebaceous glands to produce even more oil to protect the barrier.

How often should a child in early adolescence wash their face? +

We recommend washing the face twice a day: once in the morning and once at night. For children entering puberty and young adolescents, washing more than twice daily can irritate their delicate skin and damage the protective barrier, leading to breakouts.

Which sunscreen is best for oily, acne-prone skin? +

Look for "gel", "fluid", "dry-touch" or "matte-finish" sunscreens that specify they are non-comedogenic. Mineral sunscreens containing zinc oxide are also excellent as zinc has natural soothing and oil-absorbing properties.
